About us
The origin of our family business dates back to 1968.
We have always been closely linked to our community and sensitive to the demands of the market. That is why we decided to start a company in the dog and cat food sector.
Thus, in 2004, the current head company was born and today, more than two decades later, we are a leading petfood manufacturer in Spain.
Our factory located in Vilanova de Arousa (Galicia, Spain), has a surface area of more than 10,000 m2 and a production capacity of up to 1,200 bags/hour, with high quality materials.
Our process of creation, production and distribution is integral, thanks to our multidisciplinary team. This makes us one of the few companies in Spain able to carry out complete traceability monitoring, from the formulation of our recipes to the placing of the final product on the national and international market.

We are focused on recipes with high protein content, designed to feed pets with different nutritional needs depending on their stage of life.
We have grain-free options; special recipes for senior pets; extra energy for mini dogs or for puppies that need to grow strong. All with delicious flavours for the most demanding tastes.
Sustainability
We work with more environmentally friendly alternatives:
- We use renewable energy sources (solar panels and heat pumps).
- When we access a new country, we adapt the information on the bags by re-labelling. In this way, we avoid generating new packaging.
- We record our carbon footprint, controlling our impact on the ecosystem.
- We respect the human food chain, as our raw materials do not compete with human food.
Corporate Social Responsibility
From NUGAPE PET FOOD SL we believe in the value of supporting our environment in order to help in what we can . For this reason, during 2024 we have collaborated with different social actions, such as food donations or contributions to oncological research.
- We donated 8,000 servings of cat food to the interspecies shelter La Isla de Tali, located in Nigrán (Pontevedra).
- We delivered 300 kg of feline food to the animal shelter Callejeros Barbanza, in Ribeira (A Coruña).
- We supported the VI Walk against Cancer, organized by the Spanish Association against Cancer in Pontevedra.
We have the prestigious IFS Food certification, guaranteeing that our quality and safety protocols are as demanding as those applied to products for human consume.
We have also been recognised with other prestigious quality seals such as Ardán Empresa Global or Galicia Calidade, being the only Galician pet food company with this national and international recognition in the food sector.
